Among the many things I did this lovely August, one of them was COOK AMAZING FOOD. This was my go at pan-searing a steak, which I paired with homemade ceasar salad and a peach. And yes I ate it on a cutting board leave me alone. This was gas.
AUGUST 2024
August was one of my favorite months this year, honestly. I think I was the most productive, happy, healthy, fit, and excited I have ever been. It felt GREAT. And here’s some stuff that made it even better.
MUSIC
Anything Zach Bryan

Ever since Zach Bryan moved to my hometown, I feel like he completely exploded and everyone became obsessed with him. I’ve never really heard of his songs despite my love for country music, and honestly any time I heard parts of his tunes I thought it was a little too depressing for summer jamming. But, this month I decided to give him another try, and have actually enjoyed a couple of his songs. I’m mostly listening to Revival, Burn, Burn, Burn and Pink Skies!
MOVIES
Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2

Loved Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs growing up but never saw the second one. Watched it on a whim this summer and absolutely loved it despite its questionable writing of the villain. Like, these movies are so funny, how could you not enjoy yourself? Not much else to say about it.
TV
Gilmore Girls

May have gotten a little bit too excited about the idea of fall coming, but I used it as an opportunity to start rewatching Gilmore Girls. It is like a little tradition for me to get excited for a new school year and that quintessential fall feeling, though it did make me sad that I would not have that kind of fall this year since I will be abroad. I will surely miss my pumpkin spice coffees and football season!
BOOKS
Beach Read

My book of the month! Had to read it myself. Review may or may not be coming soon (shhh!) so I won’t say too much, but definitely enjoyed this while sitting on the beach enjoying the sun.
FOOD
Burgers

All this preparation for abroad got me thinking: man am I gonna miss good ole American burgers. So, I obviously decided to eat as many as I possibly could this month, ultimately getting “burgered out" so as to not miss them as much when I can’t have good ones abroad (I swear, I don’t really think they know how to grill here).
FOOD
Smoothies

I got into a smoothie KICK this summer. It was a great way for me to get all of my nutrients pretty much in one go, especially after hitting the gym in the mornings. I definitely miss being able to cook for myself and to fuel my body however I’d like to, but I guess that makes the homecoming all the more sweeter this December!
PICK OF THE MONTH
Amazon

In the days leading up to my big departure, Amazon came in CLUTCH. I kept thinking of essential things that I had forgotten to get, like bag tags, shower shoes, or locks for hostels. Amazon prime one-day shipping was a PERFECT way for me to just literally click a couple buttons and no longer feel anxious or worried, because I know it would be on my doorstep within a few hours. Honestly, Amazon is one of the best inventions. I can’t deny my love for it any longer. You go, Jeff Bezos!
Next time you'll get an entry from me, I'll be in Italy. AH! So with that, I apologize for my time offline, which was spent preparing for my semester-long adventure and having quality time with my friends and family. But we are back to work and better than ever! See you next month.
