These are simply to die for, I am (dead) serious.

I first tried these cookies at a friend’s house. She hosted my club lacrosse team over for dinner, and after we ate, she hit us with THESE. They were gone in seconds, and I knew I had to try to recreate them when I got home.

Here is my try at these delicious Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Cookies!

The Stats:

  • 30 minute prep time

  • 12 minute cook time

  • 30 minute chill time

  • Total: 1 hour and 12 minutes

  • Serving size: 8 cookies

What you’ll need:

Okay I won’t lie to you these were slightly eyeballed. My friend gave me her notes but in grams, and your girl does not have a food scale. These are the conversions from grams to cups/teaspoons and it worked for me!

  • 1 cup and 1 ⅓ tbsp. All purpose flour

  • ⅔ cup of Rolled oats (works best for getting the desired texture)

  • ½ tsp. Baking powder

  • ½ tsp. Baking soda

  • ½ tsp. Salt

  • 1 tsp. Ground cinnamon

  • ½ cup of Unsalted butter

  • ½ cup of Light brown sugar

  • ¼ cup of Granulated sugar

  • ½ tsp. Vanilla

  • Banana (about 1 will do, should be super ripened/basically brown!)

  • ¾ cup…maybe just a cup… of chocolate chips (whatever kind you prefer)

Steps:

  1. Take your banana and mash it up in a small bowl with cinnamon until it is mostly smooth and lump free

  2. Mix in the brown butter, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla until well combined

  3. Fold into the mix all of the dry ingredients, until only a few streaks of the flower remain

  4. Add in your chocolate chips!

  5. Roll the dough into small cookie balls and let the dough chill for about 30 minutes.

  6. Then bake (I put my oven at 350 degrees F and put the cookies in for about 10 to 12 ish mins) and enjoy!

Let me know if you tried the recipe and what you think - it took me a few rounds to get it right myself, so don't worry if you mess them up. As long as they aren't raw, I'm sure they'll taste good!
