In Florence, I spent much of my time digging up old memories and feelings that still pained me to confront them and let them go. It was my way of committing to growth, as I thought it was time for me to finally begin prioritizing myself. The feelings that tore me down were what held me back. For me, this reflection often took form in writing, as it was the method I felt most comfortable in and was a way for me to organize all of my thoughts in an appropriate manner. I wanted to share a poem I wrote about some of these feelings one day alongside the Arno. While I had never written poetry before, it felt right and was the best way for me to release. Posting here is a good way for me to let go of these feelings once and for all. It also allows me to practice vulnerability, something I am still working on and is often not accomplished.
Here’s to letting go of what keeps you from unleashing the person you want to become.

Poetry is so freeing because it allows us to put inexplicable emotion into words while still leaving what was unsaid in plain view. Well done with this one 🙌🏼 keep it up.
